Trying to prove Islam through OT prophecies

How dishonest is that. First of all you claim that OT is not reliable; you say it is tampered with. You do not say, of all thousands of passages in that vast literature what passages are man-made and what parts are intact remnants of original God revelation. then you go on to prove Islam from those "unreliable" scriptures, from arbitrarily chosen passages.

I have heard of 4 attempts of showing Muhamad prophecies in the Bible, 1 the famous Deut 18:18 verse, another in Hosea, one again the famous "paraclete" of the Gospel of John, and the fourth one, that I want to discuss in this entry, is in the Song of Solomon.

The verse 5:16 of Song of Solomon reads:

His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

The word translated as "lovely" above is "machmad" in Hebrew:

4261 - machmad (makh-mawd) : from 2530; delightful; hence, a delight, i.e. object of affection or desire:--beloved, desire, goodly, lovely, pleasant (thing).

Now the dishonest argument is that this verse is a prophecy of God. This is just a coincidence that the two languages have a simliar sounding word. "Muhamad" in Arabic has a meaning like "the praised one" as the word "hamd" means "praise". Since Arabic and Hebrew are sister languages it shouldn't be surprising that "machmad" in Hebrew means "pleasant".

This verse does not talk about a future prophet to come whose name will be "Muhamad." This is just the "smart" Muslim looking all over the Bible to find a word that will sound like "Muhamad," and regardless of context, just claim it is a prophecy about Muhamad.

The Muslim who argues that this verse is a prophecy of Muhamad also knows that the Song of Solomons does not look like the Word of God at all. It is talking about the breasts of his sister and such things. No Muslim would accept this book as the direct revelation of God. In fact some Muslims like Harun Yahya argue that this book is one of the best examples of why the Bible is corrupt and not the complete Word of God.

I READ YOUR BLOG AND I ALSO FIND IT VERY HYPOCRITICAL TO USE THE OT TO PROVE PROPHECY OF THE FUTURE PROPHET OF ISLAM MR. MUHAMMED PBUH.MUSLIMS ALWAYS CLAIM THAT THE OT AND THE NT IS CORRUPT.FAIR ENOUGH.BUT WHY THEN USE IT AS EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT MR. MOE.THE TRUTH IS THAT WITHOUT THE "CORRUPT BIBLE" ISLAM COULD NOT EXIST AS IT IS TODAY.ISLAM HAS TAKEN FROM THE BELIEFS OF SO MANY INCLUDING THE JEWS,CHRISTIANS AND GREEKS TO NAME A FEW.ISLAM WAS CREATED TO MUHAMMED TO UNIFY THE ARAB TRIBES AND BRING HIM A SEAT OF HONOR AND POWER.UNFORTUNATELY MR. MOE MADE MANY MISTAKES AND TODAY WE ARE FINDING THE FAULTS ONE BY ONE.IN HIS DAY WE DID NOT HAVE THE INTERNET AND OTHER SOURCES OF INFORMATION TO VERIFY THINGS HE SAID.BUT FORTUNATELY TODAY WE HAVE ACCESS TO INFORMATION ABOUT ALMOST EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN.SORRY MR. MOE BUT WE ARE ON TO YOU.
